Grottoes Branch Coming Soon!

F&M Bank is excited to announce our Grottoes Branch Staff. Employees are part of a new “universal banker” staffing approach. Cross-trained in nearly all F&M products and services, the branch staff can provide increased flexibility and efficiency to accommodate our customers’ busy lives. All branch employees have an extensive background in banking and finance and are familiar with the Grottoes area.

Ashley Lam will serve as the Branch Coordinator in the same building where her career in banking began. In 2005, Ashley was hired by BB&T as a part-time teller. She worked with BB&T until 2013 when the Grottoes location closed, and the opportunity to begin employment with F&M Bank arose. In October of 2013, Ashley started as a Customer Service Representative at the Elkton Branch. Her background in banking and knowledge of the Grottoes area make her an excellent candidate for Branch Coordinator.

Three Branch Specialists were recently hired to work alongside Ashley Lam. All employees come to F&M Bank with an impressive background in banking. Carrie Grimes joins the team with seven years of banking experience. She is also native to the Shenandoah Valley.

Judy Glover is new to the area and comes to F&M Bank from Chesapeake, VA. She served as a teller and in operations with Towne Bank for twelve years before relocating to Stuarts Draft, VA.

Sandy Lucas brings ten years of experience to Grottoes, where she was born and raised.

Tom Campbell Named Melvin Jones Fellow

F&M Bank is pleased to congratulate Tom Campbell, Commercial Relationship Manager, for being named a Melvin Jones Fellow by Lions Clubs International (LCI). Named for the founder of Lions Clubs International, Melvin Jones, the fellowship is the foundation’s highest honor. It is a recognition of commitment to humanitarian service and serving the world.

Tom Campbell is a member of the Timberville Lions Club. At the Club’s 62nd Charter Night Celebration on June 2, he received a finely crafted plaque and lapel pin acknowledging his dedication to the foundation’s humanitarian goals. He also received a letter of commendation from LCI. His name will be permanently displayed on the Melvin Jones Fellowship board at LCI Headquarters.

As a Melvin Jones Fellow, Tom Campbell becomes a part of the growing network of individuals who are committed to improving the quality of life for people locally and in communities around the world.

Tom Campbell joined the Club in 2007. He was sworn in as treasurer the same night he became a member, taking over the duty previously held by his sponsor and incumbent treasurer, Dean Withers. Tom has participated in fundraisers throughout the past nine years. He plans to continue participation in the activities of the Club.

Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest service club organization with nearly 1.3 million members. As the charitable arm of the association, LCIF makes grants for vital community and global projects that meet a wide range of humanitarian needs. LCIF’s programs unite approximately 46,000 Lions clubs in 205 countries and geographical areas in a worldwide endeavor to significantly reduce preventable blindness.

Rockingham/Harrisonburg SPCA Pet of the Month

Meet Cauliflower! This special lady is a two year old domestic short hair. After coming in with a litter of kittens who have since been adopted, Cauliflower is looking for her very own forever home. She is not a big fan of dogs, and would prefer a low-key, relaxed household where she can unwind.

Casual Fridays for Charity

From employee contributions in May, we raised $800 for area free clinics. We divided the donations evenly between the Augusta, Rockingham, Page and Shenandoah County Free Clinics.

Area Free Clinic staff and volunteers provide compassionate, quality, and integrated health and human services to qualifying patients. A good percentage of funding derives from community support and donations.

We hope you don't mind these dress-down days as they are for a good cause! Keep an eye out for future announcements on our Facebook page.
