Larry Caplinger Retires

On December 31, 2018, Larry Caplinger officially retired from F&M Bank. After 46 years of service, we would all like to wish Larry well as he enters this new stage. Although retired from day to day employment, Larry will continue to serve on F&M Bank's Board of Directors.

Larry joined the bank in 1972 as a note teller and quickly rose through the organization. He became Assistant Cashier in 1975, AVP in 1978 and VP in 1983. In 1990, he was promoted to the position of Senior Lending Officer and Senior Vice President. Following this progression, Larry was promoted to Executive Vice President in 2007 and was elected to the F&M Board of Directors in 2012.

During his tenure, F&M Bank experienced great growth and success. In addition to his invaluable contributions at the bank, Larry has actively supported the local communities in the Shenandoah Valley.  He is a lifetime member of the Timberville Volunteer Fire Department and was the Assistant Chief of that organization for 10 years.

Larry, F&M Bank cannot thank you enough for your many years of service, and you will be missed! If you see Larry around the community, join us in wishing him the best!

Bank Day Scholarship Program

Calling all high school seniors! Could you use $7,500 to help pay for college expenses? Sign up for the Virginia Bankers Association Bank Day Scholarship Program through F&M Bank!

The purpose of Bank Day is to expose students to the banking industry and provide an opportunity for students to learn about banking, financial services and the vital role F&M Bank plays in the community. From their experience, participating students will write an essay for the chance to win a scholarship.

This year, we'll be hosting Bank Day shadowing experiences in Timberville, Harrisonburg, and Staunton. If interested in learning more or signing up, click here.

Meet Rocky Plumington III! Rocky is a seven-year-old, neutered male beagle mix who is the gentleman of your dreams. Really, he would love a buddy to help him walk off some of the extra weight, so if you're looking for someone to help you with your resolutions, he would love to be a part of that. He is a well mannered pup who already knows sit and paw. He also excels at fetch and loves to play with stuffy toys. Rocky qualifies for the Seniors for Seniors program!
