F&M Welcomes Thomas A. White to Its Augusta County Advisory Board

We would like to welcome Thomas A. White to F&M Bank’s Augusta County Advisory Board. Tom is Vice President of White, Withers, Masincup & Cannaday, P.C., a Staunton-based CPA firm comprised of 18 employees, including nine CPAs.

White, Withers, Masincup & Cannay, P.C. is the combined firm of two of the oldest CPA firms in Staunton, dating back to 1950. Prior to the merger, Tom was the driving force in building his prior organization - Anderson, White & Company, P.C. - into a million-dollar company.

Before entering public accounting, Tom worked as an investment advisor for Investor Diversified Services, a financial service company. While becoming a licensed broker to sell financial products, he pursued his dream of entering the accounting profession and has remained in the accounting profession for over 35 years.

Tom holds a BBA from Madison College, becoming a CPA in 1980. He played high school and college golf and still has a passion for the game. He currently serves on several boards and finance committees for organizations such as the Staunton-Augusta YMCA; The Club at Ironwood; the Staunton Downtown Development Association; Coffman Funeral Home, LLC; N.L. Deaver Golf Scholarship Fund, Inc.; Milmont Greenhouses, Inc.; and Marina Bay Homeowners’ Association.

F&M Bank Calendar Photo of the Month

This antique Chevy pickup truck is parked on Highway 340 next to the welcome sign for the town of Shenandoah and gets decorated for the seasons. Chris Anderson says, “It is always fun to pass by and see how it has changed for the holidays.”

2019 F&M Bank calendars are now available for pick up! Stop by any of our branch locations to get your copy while supplies last.

Casual Fridays for Charity

Throughout the month of October, employees donated over $400 to the Area 4 Special Olympics.

The special Olympics is a social movement built on inclusion, where every single person is accepted and welcomed, regardless of ability or disability. They are helping make the world a better, healthier and more joyful place -- one athlete, one volunteer, one family member at a time.

We hope you don't mind these dress-down days as they are for a good cause! Keep an eye out for future announcements on our Facebook page.

Rockingham-Harrisonburg SPCA Pet of the Month

Meet Layla! Layla is a five-year-old, white and black spayed female kitty. She really likes when people sing to her, and she might even sing along. She can be a little introverted, so please don't take it purr-sonally. If you give her time she'll lean her head into your hand when she's ready for a rub. She can get excited and want to play so just keep a little toy nearby so you're ready. Her beauty mark helps her stand out! Come to the R-H SPCA at 2170 Old Furnace Road to meet her.
